Provisions on Administrative Enforcement Procedures by Cyberspace Authorities Released

On March 23, 2023, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) published Provisions on Administrative Enforcement Procedures by Cyberspace Authorities (the “Provisions”), which will take effect on June 1, 2023.
In particular, the Provisions outline the procedures for the administrative supervision of enforcement actions for violations of applicable data protection and security regulations. Further, the Provisions stipulate the procedures for investigation and evidence collection by cybersecurity and informatization departments, and the different approaches to addressing violations of data protection and security regulations.
